Alioune Diagne groups his works in collections, around powerful themes such as childhood, the daily life of the Modou Modou, market scenes in Africa, Senegalese memory, the customs and values of today...

Some of his collections are related to artistic experiments: for the Claire-Obscure collection, for example, he works with monochrome or black-and-white silhouettes and bare scenes, which look like the negatives of his figuro-abstro paintings. 

The artist prefers the term "collection" to "series" because it does not imply any temporal delimitation and he can then enrich each collection according to his desires.
